Wild Things: Designing for Life

APLD_LogoB The Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) is an international organization founded in 1989. Our mission is to advance the profession of landscape design and to promote the recognition of landscape designers as qualified and dedicated professionals.

APLD will be having their 2015 International Landscape Design Conference in Washington, D.C. from October 8-11.  Amy has been selected to be one of the presenters in the Design Track at the conference.

As technology speeds up the flow of information and demands on our attention, we have begun to lose a crucial connection to the natural environment, and the very thing that enhances our own humanity. Connection with plants and wildlife, especially birds and butterflies, allows us to slow down, increase our powers of observation, and feel grounded.

The intent of this presentation is to help designers create an environment for their clients that will lower maintenance, reflect their geographic eco-region, and provide the elements that are needed to support local wildlife, while also supporting the needs and nurturing the spirit of their clients and their families.
