Dirt Simple: Carbon Farming at Home

Become a carbon farmer and join the movement to regenerate soils, by creating a healthy living soil sponge that absorbs stormwater and improves porosity.  Work with nature and encourage decomposition and nutrient cycling by doing less work, using the forest and meadow as inspiration.  Help your plants help themselves by surrounding them with a community that shares resources and energizes soil microorganisms.

This presentation is part of a yearly day of learning known as Soil School

Soil School is a day-long workshop that includes multiple sessions on a wide variety of topics – all having to do with soil and soil health. Students will have the option again this year to participate in hands-on learning in the Washington County Master Gardener Association Education Garden. Soil School is tailored toward gardeners, landscape professionals, and small scale farmers.

Soil School is presented by West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District and Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District.

Registration: $35 per person. REGISTER HERE. Light breakfast and buffet lunch are included.
